Study Permit Changes For International Students by IRCC
As per IRCC’s recent announcements made on January 22, 2024, focusing on stabilizing the number of international students, a new process is being introduced for all provinces in Canada.
Starting January 22, 2024, every study permit application submitted to IRCC will require an attestation letter from their province. Each province is developing a process to obtain an attestation letter, with these processes expected to be in place by March 31, 2024.
Moving forward, IRCC will return any application received on or after January 22, 2024, without the required attestation letter unless the applicant qualifies for an exemption (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit.html)
